Who

I'm Joann Lyles and my studio came to life in 1999 to provide marketing services to local corporations. The emphasis soon expanded to provide small- and medium-sized businesses with coordinated marketing services that respected the size of the business. There's an art to presenting people with the right information in a format they enjoy, and that's my passion. I have served on marketing teams in the east and southwestern United States. My education consists of a Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering from Howard University, a Masters of Architecture from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and course work in computer programming, fine arts, graphic design, and printing technology. Phoenix, Arizona is where I live, play, learn, and work. Being active with my family and with friends is my favorite pastime.

If you think I can help you with web services, don't hesitate to send a quick email! I will be happy to hear from you.

How

My approach to design is simple— understand what the audience values and give it to them. But also, building a functional and pleasing design experience involves understanding your goals as a client and what you desire to come of the website or print piece. After our initial talk, we continue to communicate openly at every stage. Design is fluid and subjective, so changes are part of the process. During production, I offer guidance and encourage you to ask questions about the process. For large projects, working seamlessly with programmers, application developers, and videographers is a must. The chief goal is to motivate your audience and orchestrate the perfect first impression.

PMA

Preliminary Marketing Analysis (PMA). Over the years, I've developed a system to gather critical information to make intelligent decisions about project parameters. My PMA investigates competitors, audience, and various industry conditions and makes findings to inform the design and marketing approach. A marketing analysis is expected for large corporate projects because it maximizes time, money and results. If not more, it's equally important for smaller projects. Good design comes from good information and that is where my projects start. In my experience, the PMA is the key difference between a lackluster first impression and a presentation that inspires people to do business with you. The PMA is included in my fee and performed for new projects; because market conditions change, it is also performed for redesigns.

This Site

This site is 100% content managed on the Joomla! platform. The layout was produced using Adobe Photoshop and custom-coded as tableless xhtml and CSS. Tables have a welcomed place with tabular data and form construction. The site is designed to be accessible and standards compliant. CSS layout is also a convenience to site owners for the ability to make upgrades conveniently and quickly.

All custom sites are built to the same standard. For some sites, WordPress is an excellent platform. Foresytz clients are advised about other platform options including the pros and cons of server environments.
